The MUL5 is a non-contact pulse radar transmitter for difficult level applications — high temperature, high pressure and low-dielectric media. Lens antennas focus the beam to as little as 3 degrees, so it works in narrow tanks and close to walls or obstructions, and an optional Bluetooth display module allows setup from a phone app.

Process conditions from -196 C to +400 C (and up to 1200 C on ladle applications with a high-temperature isolation assembly) and -0.1 to 40 MPa are covered, with PP or PTFE antennas for corrosive service such as agitated acid and alkali tanks.

FAQ

What is the maximum range of the MUL5?

Up to 120 m, depending on version and medium, with accuracy options of ±1.0 mm, ±2.0 mm or ±10 mm.

Radar or guided wave radar — which should I choose?

Choose the non-contact MUL5 when nothing may touch the medium or for very tall tanks; choose guided wave radar (MUL3) for interface measurement, heavy foam or very low dielectric media in smaller tanks.

Can it measure in agitated or corrosive tanks?

Yes. The PTFE antenna versions are designed for strong acid and alkali service, including agitated vessels.
